About World Youth International
Founded in 1988 by the late Robert Hoey, World Youth International (WYI) is one of Australia's leading not-for profit international development organisations that has facilitated meaningful volunteering opportunities for more than 3,000 Australians of all ages, working in some of the world's poorest communities for more than 24 years.
Over the years, we have built the WYI School (primary/high) in Gokarna and the WYI Sapana Dreaming Children's Home in Nepal. We sponsor hundreds of children's education each year, provide accommodation for orphans and also run programs overseas for our nurses and young volunteers. Here in Australia our organisation runs empowering personal development programs (PEP) for young people.
In 2013, as one of our major projects, WYI completed building and opened the Mama Ann's Odede Health Centre. A 50 bed hospital specifically designed for the Mama’s and babies of the Odede and surrounding communities. Funds donated this year through your generosity will go to supporting our Odede Health Centre in Kenya.
